tl;dr: F-Droid 2.0 ships after a year+ of work, featuring a Kotlin/Jetpack Compose rewrite, Material Design UI, and reorganized navigation (Discover, Search, My Apps) with expanded categories, better search (including CJK support), and combinable filters. It leverages Android's new pre-approval install API (thanks to DMA pressure) for a smoother install/update experience, and enables background updates by default. Some features were dropped or simplified, including F-Droid Privileged Extension support, the calculator-style app disguise (now icon-only), and panic-triggered app wiping.
