tl;dr: Minimal Phone 2 is a compact Android phone with a 4-inch AMOLED touchscreen, physical QWERTY keyboard (backlit, touch-sensitive, multiple layouts), 50MP/20MP cameras, 3,600mAh battery, headphone jack, and Minimal OS focused on reducing distraction with focus modes, a unified "Hub" inbox, and optional de-Googled ROM. Pre-orders start at $599 ($100 off), with shipping estimated for December 2026.
HN Discussion: ↑Enthusiastic about the phone's design, keyboard, and minimal aesthetic; likely future buyers ↓Complaint that it's just another kneecapped Android rather than a truly different minimal OS/BlackBerry-like device ↓Price is too high for something marketed as 'minimal' ↓Full Android defeats the distraction-reduction purpose since it still requires user self-control ~Nitpicks on hardware specs (screen ratio, RAM, microSD, bands, bootloader) show unrealistic user demands
