tl;dr: Microsoft's September Windows updates have broken Remote Desktop Services across multiple Windows versions (including Server 2012 and Windows 11 26H1), causing connection failures and unresponsive management tools. The same patch cycle also disrupted USB Audio Class 1.0 device support on Windows 11, and an Excel security fix silently breaks paste operations in Excel 2016 through 2024 with no error indication. Fixes are in progress, but the only current workaround for Excel is uninstalling the security update or reinstalling Office.
